Operation Take Back

 Prescription Drug Disposal Programs

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events are held twice a year and are sponsored by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

In addition to National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, the Florham Park Police Department in an effort to curb or
reduce the abuse of prescription, over-the-counter, and other unused household medication, maintains a Prescription
Drug Collection Unit, located in the main lobby of the Florham Park Borough Hall, just outside the entrance for the Florham Park Police Department. This will allow Florham Park residents to anonymously dispose of unwanted medications 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

Sharps cannot be accepted by either disposal program. Any sharps should be brought to Morristown Medical Center in an approved container for proper disposal.
