Christopher D'Ambola - Support Services Division Commander


Lieutenant Chris D’Ambola joined the Florham Park Police Department as a Police Dispatcher in 1998.

Lieutenant D’Ambola was hired in 2000 as a Patrolman and attended the 56th Basic Police Class at the Morris County Police Training Academy. Following graduation, he served in the Patrol Division as a Patrol Officer until 2011. During this time Lieutenant D’Ambola was a Field Training Officer and also responsible for implementing the Departments Honor Guard Unit.

In 2011 Lieutenant D’Ambola was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he supervised a Patrol Squad. 

In 2013 Lieutenant D’Ambola was transferred to the Division of Investigations where he served as Detective Sergeant. During this time, he served as the Juvenile Detective, Megan’s Law Liaison Officer, and Evidence Custodian.   

In 2015 Lieutenant D’Ambola returned back to the Patrol Division where he supervised a Patrol Squad.

In 2019 Lieutenant D’Ambola was transferred to the Support Service Division. During this time, he supervised all community policing functions along with Communications and Information Technology until his promotion to Lieutenant in 2020.

In February of 2020, Lieutenant D’Ambola was assigned to lead the Support Services Division of the Florham Park Police Department. In this position he is responsible for the Department’s school based policing programs as well as all community outreach programs including Neighborhood Watch.  This assignment also includes continued oversight of the Community Policing Bureau as well as Information Technology infrastructure, Records Management, and Fleet Management. Additionally, he is one of the Department’s Public Information Officers.

Over the course of his career, Lieutenant D’Ambola has attended several specialized training programs including Accident investigations, FBI LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute, FBI LEEDA Command Leadership Institute, and FBI LEEDA Executive Leadership Institute.
