Detective Lieutenant Philip D'Alessio - Investigative Division Commander

Detective Lieutenant Phil D’Alessio is a graduate of Parsippany Hills High School and the County College of Morris.  Lieutenant D’Alessio began his law enforcement career when he was hired by the Florham Park Police Department.  

Lieutenant D’Alessio was hired in 1997 as a Patrolman after attending the 49
th Basic Police Class at the Morris County Police Academy as a member of the Alternate Route Program.  Following graduation, he served in the Patrol Division as a patrol officer until 2008 when he was assigned to the Division of Investigations as a Detective.  During his assignment as a detective, he served as the department Megan’s Law Liaison and Evidence Custodian.


In 2012, Lieutenant D’Alessio returned to the patrol division and in 2013 was assigned as an O.I.C of his squad.


 In 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he successfully supervised squad 1 in the Patrol Division. 

In 2018, Lieutenant D’Alessio returned to the Division of Investigations where he was promoted to the rank of Detective Lieutenant in February of 2018.


Since beginning his law enforcement career, Lieutenant D’Alessio has served the Florham Park Police Department in various roles including being named as the Assistant Commander of the departments Emergency Response Team (ERT), bicycle patrol officer, Emergency Medical technician (EMD).  Over the course of his career, Lieutenant D’Alessio has attended several specialized training programs including FBI advanced interview/interrogation, HIDTA 1 Advanced Narcotics Training, L.S.I Advanced workshop on Scientific Analysis and SWAT Command and Leadership.
