The Florham Park Office of Emergency Managment

Coordinator - Lt. John C. Morrison

Deputy Coordinators -
Stephen Jones Borough of Florham Park

Emergency Management's primary role is to plan for any incident, wether man-made or due to an act of nature, that may overwelm the normal resources available within the Borough of Florham Park. During such an emergency, Emergency Management acts as a coordinator for those department heads who are responsible for responding to and resolving the incident. Emergency Management's role is one of support to these agencies and to supply them with needed resources, manpower or equipment, to properly counter any given situation. Once the incident is resolved, the local coordinator is the Borough's resource for seeking reimbursement for expenses and funding to repair damage through grants and other federal funding programs.

The local Coordinator answers to the chief executive of the municipality and acts as the point of contact with the NJ Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, through Morris County's OEM Coordinator.

The local Coordinator and his staff are required to attend numerous training programs, sponsored by the county, state and federal offices, to ensure that they are familiar with their duties and responsibilities as well as the roles of other agencies in a comprehensive local emergency management program.

The OEM Coordinator and his staff can be contacted through the police department by calling 973.377.2200.
