Support Services Division

The Support Services Division provides vital services to the Department and consists of the Training Division, Communications Bureau, Records Bureau, Computer & Technology Unit , and Fleet Management.


is the lifeline between the public and the department.  Ensuring radio, phone and data communications all operate properly, monitoring radio and telephone communications of law enforcement, other emergency responders, and the public.

Records Bureau

personnel are responsible for organizing, filing and maintaining all official documents and reports of the department. They are also responsible for the dissemination of documents via discovery and OPRA requests.

Computer and Technology Unit

is responsible for overseeing, maintaining and ensuring integrity of the Department’s computer network, data systems and electronic information. This includes, but is not limited to all associated computer hardware, software, electronic files, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, and accessing information from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as well as a multitude of other law enforcement databasesassociated with the Department.


Training Bureau is responsible for maintaining all the mandatory and discretionary training for the Police Department staff. Training instructors teach all state mandatory in-service trainings four times a year. Department personnel receive progressive training via scenario, self-learning, and lecture based trainings.

Honor Guard is a specialized unit of volunteer officers. These officers attend funerals and functions where the colors need to be presented. The Honor Guard unit has had the opportunity to present the colors at the New York Jets and New York Giants football games.

Court Security is vital for protection of the municipal court judge, court staff, and the public. All those attending court are screened before entering the court room. This duty falls primarily to the Special Officers of the department. Court is generally every Wednesday and all cases, motor vehicle and criminal are heard.
